She still has the bully pulpit and can push things she believes in,Like fueling-up the Cha-Cha train. These things may not get enacted but everyone will have to stake out a position. And all but Arroyo’s cronies are working to stay in office. Some of her allies in Congress and Senate seem to be abandoning her. (more…)

When we speak of great souls or great leaders, surely everyone will raise eye brow as real leaders are becoming gradually rare. But, one name shines like eternal glittering star in the sky in the Pearl of the Orient as the rooster crow to give the signal of dawn, and that is late Ninoy the spark plug of EDSA.

The slay of the late Ninoy is considered as the turning point in the hard-fought battle of Filipino leaders like him to regain our country’s democracy from the shackles of two decade-long of martial rule imposed by the late Ilocano Apo Lakay. But ,his sacrifice to restore our country’s democratic institutions seemed to have been only the dream of Filipinos are worth dying for. Our country still suffers from grave social disparities and the increasingly opportunistic behavior of its political-economic elite. (more…)
