Each and every one of us are proud to be a Filipino. We should be proud of our roots. Such diversity of cultures and traditional upbringing of Pinoy are bound to be admired. While each of us aspire for a dynamic, powerful and peaceful country, none of us have taken any real action to weed the country of its corrupt politicians. What we lack today is not the vision for the future, but the will and leadership to tackle the growing menace of corruption at all levels. I am proud to be Pinoy, but I feel ashamed to see our politicians looting our treasures and not happy to see politicians fighting like street dogs.
What did we achieve in Pidal government to be proud about? They have failed miserably to give the basic requirement of safety and security of the citizen. The government’s writ does not run in all places. The law exists only for the timid and loyal ones to Pidal. No primary health, education, justice, employment and neglected agriculture. It’s pathetic! Our country is more divided now than ever before.
Alab ng Puso is not about being proud of the culture that has yet to evolve so that the basic human rights and social justice is afforded to most of its people. Patriotism is more about accepting the blatant and most despicable aspects of one’s culture and not living in a make-belief and a fantasy world of false pride.
Ang mamatay ng dahil sa iyo is about the OFW’s who have been remitting millions of dollars and help the economy. Give credit to where credit is due! Come back to reality and stop living in the la-la land while the vultures in government steal money from these hardworking people by assuming they have no intelligence. Treating them like sheep and expecting them to follow in the same way year after year. There is no reason why these corrupt government who are looking for their well being couldn’t achieve better results to fight for their rights and dignity if they are abused, there’s just no will enough to do it.
